"A bosom friend--an intimate friend--a really kindred spirit to whom I can confide my inmost soul." ~Anne of Green Gables

I know, I know, yet another banner proclaiming that "herein lie tantalizing secrets that you don't know about." I've been hesitant to "friend only" this journal, because I love wandering around the journals and reading about people's interests and lives. It astonishes me how honest we can be in this forum - and with people that we have never met in real life. I love that, it's probably why I am so addicted to lj.

However, I am also aware of how ... perilous the internet can be; how that same honesty could have serious repercussions if I reveal too much about my personal life. And from the beginning, I've screened certain entries that I didn't want the random stranger to see, or even the real life person who might take it in the wrong context. In the next (several weeks, probably), I'll be going through and making more entries friends only.

So, please comment here, if we have shared interests and just tell me a little about yourself. I'm sure we are kindred spirits just waiting to discover each other!

I future-dated this entry, so it always is at the stop, so people can friend me. But you're the first who's wanted to!

I am heading out of town at this very minute, but I'll email you as soon as I get back. Do you still AIM at all? I've been looking for you.

Well, I was going to email you about Like Never Before and tell you that a)I just discovered it, b)I can't believe I just discovered it, c)you're amazing, d)if there's a top ten list in my head of Gilmore fics, that's definitely ranking higher than number ten in my head, and e)my life will be incomplete if you don't finish it...but then I discovered you had a LiveJournal. And then I discovered that you seem to have a lovely level head on your shoulders, you know a lot about a subject I want to be a part of (medicine, that is...the lure of biology), and...well, you remind me a lot of most of the people I know that Get It. So...umm...hit me? (And, y'know, hit [livejournal.com profile] cadenzamuse, too. Because that's my RL journal, and I think I just have a good feeling about you.)

So, um, anybody who fans my ego about my stories gets automatically added, especially poor, neglected LNB. LNB will at some point be finished, even if it's postumously by my grandkids who just put an "The End" on it.

I've added both "cadenzamuse" and "midnightcadenza"! Welcome, friend! (Do you have a name I can call you? I'm Julia.) Unfortunately, I don't get as much time as I'd want to post, so it's a bit of a sparce journal but I'm trying to do better.

Hi, this is Sami from the writing community, Awfully Picky. I was hoping that you could post some writings or links or anything really. The community hasn't been very active lately and I want that to change. I can promise that if you post something that you will at least get one comment of feedback. It might be just from me but I tend to give long bits of feedback. Thanks!

Hi Sami--

I would love to post something, however, right now I'm in Kenya and don't have any of my writings available. I'm be back home in a month, so I'll try to remember to post something then. And if I get a moment and actually pull out a pen and write here, I'll try to get it up too (although that's less likely. I seem to be in a writing funk).

Hi! My name is Liz. You look pretty awesome so I was wondering if you'd add me to your friends list? We have quite a bit in common...I love Anne Of Green Gables, and I love Rory and Jess together :D Although I'm not as addicted as I used to be... But by far Voyager is my favourite series ever. P/T is love lol. And I nearly died when I read you were a Chakotay/Seven fan! ME TOO! I've been looking for that other person who thought so too! lol I feel better that I'm not just crazy hehe.

Anyway, I'm not sure what else to say about myself... I'm a little weird as I'm sure you've caught on, and I have a little bit of a cynical view on things, but I think its one of my charms. lol. Anyway I'm 18, and I am in my first year of the Tourism & Travel program at my college. I'd like to think I don't act or think like most other 18 year olds though. Anyway I'm not sure what else you might want to know... but if you want to know more don't be shy :)
I'm rambling now so I'll leave you with that.
xx Liz

ps...I love your icons! Especially your P/T - Burn for you one. Mind if I snag a few? Will credit of course.

Hi Liz!

You have been friended! You seem awesome, and it's great having a Voyager fan on my flist, especially one who shows such excellent taste in pairings. :D I couldn't say that Voyager was my favorite series ever, that probably goes to X-Files, but I think it's a good, solid second. :) I miss the show, tons, and I get very nostaglic for it and start pining away. I'm really hoping that eventually they'll release the DVDs to be more affordable, but until then, I make do with screencaps and icons. You are more than welcome to take any of my icons; I'm so happy you like them. I have a few more on Scrapbook if you wanna check them out: http://pics.livejournal.com/jcd1013/gallery/0000aqzq.

I too am not as dedicated to Gilmore Girls as once upon a time. The writing and quality and humor is just not as good as once upon a time. It's hard seeing it die like this.

Anyway, I'll keep rambling, so I'd better stop myself. Welcome to LJ flist land. I'm glad you're here!

I maintain lds_inspiration to which you applied.. I am always curious about new people who join my communities, so I peaked at your journal, and I'm astounded how many common interests we have even if I don't have them all listed on my info. I would REALLY like the chance to get to know you better because we share many of the same TV show, book, and movie interests as well as a shared interest in writing.

I hope that my grammar and spelling are good enough. I do not always use all the grammar rules about sentences and such in my journal as I prefer to write the way my mind thinks. If thing are misspelled it's almost always due to typo rather than spelling mistakes. (I frequently have a child on my lap or am in a hurry while typing)

And now a little about me..

My name is Lisa, and I am 28, the mother of 2 children, LDS, and a creative kind of soul. I am a stay at home mom, and rather enjoy it. I have been working on rekindling my creativity and writing lately. I will have been married 3 years this March 14th to the man of my dreams. I currently live in Utah but plan to move elsewhere when hubby is done with school. I am the oldest of 7 children, and grew up in a tiny mountain town in AZ. My parents have always called me a dreamer. I'm not sure what all to say other than most of my friends tell me that I'm very encouraging, genuine, and sweet personalitywise.

I understand that your time is limited online. Med school has a tendency to dominate one's life. I would not be offended if you were not able to comment all the time, I understand that and many of my friends are much in the same boat for various reasons.

I would really like the opportunity to get to know someone I seem to share a great many interests with. = D

BTW.. I think your journal layout, colors, and theme are darling! You have me craving those movies/books again now. I even live on a street named "Anne" with an E. ;)

Hi Lisa!

It's great to meet you and I would honored to friend you! You seem incredibly nice and already we have so much in common. I can't wait to discover what else there is--reading your info page, I see you dislike tomatoes as well! Now, I know we are kindred spirits!

And no worries about the grammar--you will find this journal is a mess of typos and sentences ending with prepositions. That rule was mostly added to keep away those who haven't realized that the shift key or the period exist. You give me complete sentences--that is enough!

I haven't had any LDS communities on my flist and decided to change that, hence stumbling across your community. :) In case you were wondering.

My time online varies depending on how busy my rotations are, but I read all of my LJ friends journals--it just might take me a couple of days to get to it. And I'm bad at commenting, but that's my New Year's Resolution so I'm a tiny bit better.

May I ask what tiny mountain town you are from in Arizona? I was born in Tucson, myself, and half of my family still lives down there. And then we moved to a tiny town in Utah (250 people) so I know what that is like! And I do want to hear more about your writing efforts--I feel like I'm struggling so much in that department and love talking to people about their difficulties.

Oh, and I saw on your journal something about being on different filters--I don't mind being on them all, I love learning about the different aspects of my friends' lives.

I'm addicted to Anne--it's the red-hair resonance. I've been toying with the idea of changing my layout since I've had it from months, but I can't bring myself to take down Anne. Still waiting for my Gilbert. Sounds like you've found yours. :)

So nice to meet you!

Remember Awfully Picky? Well, I'm the moderator of the community and I was hoping to get some people interested in doing a little month-long challenge where everyone writes a minimum number of words every week and posts it. At the end of the month the person who writes the most (in proportion to how much they set their limit to) wins like a banner for their livejournal and a little button to put on their user profile. What do you think? I thought we could start it in April. Thanks!

Since I don't do drive-bys, I thought I'd ask if you minded if I added you...

I am much the same in regard to commenting, BTW - I don't bother adding every "Me,too" or "That's cool" - I save comments for when I have something a little substantial to say...*grin*

But having a backup place to host it isn't a bad idea either (and it needs revamping... there's a whole bunch of characters that need to be added!), so if you give me your email address, I can send it on.

I hope you do manage to contact some of your old friends from that XF mailing group. Sad to say, I am not one of them. It does look like we have a few interests in common. I love Jane Austen, writing, and poetry. And The X-Files. I am not really a shipper, however, and my journal is a bit short of squee. I am relatively new to LJ and to fandom as well. I enjoyed what I could read of your journal, and I appreciate your need for privacy. I started a separate journal to post about work, so that I could keep most my original one unflocked. If you want to add me, I will happily add you back. If not, then there will be no hard feelings, I assure you.
